To get admission to Film and Television Institute of India, Pune (FTII) and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata (SRFTI), candidates need to appear and qualify JET 2018. The application form for Joint Entrance Test (JET) 2018 is currently available for all the aspirants. Candidates need to fill and submit the JET 2018 application form by January 25 till 5:00 pm. Candidates can download the admit card of JET 2018 from February 8 onwards. The All India Level written examination, JET will be of three hours duration and it will consist of objective type and subjective questions. JET 2018 will be held on February 18 at 26 centres across India. Based on the JET 2018 result, FTII and SRFTI will send call letters to all the shortlisted candidates for the selection process. The JET 2018 scores are not allowed to be used by any other institute except FTII and SRFTI. JET Eligibility Criteria 2018

Candidates who will be applying for the entrance exam must check and meet the eligibility criteria of JET 2018. JET eligibility criteria 2018 will consist of minimum educational qualification required, qualifying marks, age criteria etc. For the candidate’s reference, mentioned below is the JET 2018 eligibility criteria.

 

JET 2018 Eligibility Criteria for courses under the Film Wing Group

  • Education Qualification- Candidates need to have Bachelor's Degree in any discipline to be eligible for all courses (except Sound Recording & Sound Design and Art Direction & Production Design).

  • For Sound Recording & Sound Design- Candidate should have Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Physics as a subject at senior secondary (10+2) level.

  • For Art Direction & Production Design- Candidate should have Bachelor’s degree in applied arts, architecture, painting, sculpture, interior design or related fields in fine arts or equivalent diploma from a recognized institute.

JET 2018 Eligibility Criteria for courses under the TV Wing Group

  • Education Qualification for all courses expect (except Sound Recording & Television Engineering and Sound for Electronic & Digital Media)- Candidates need to have Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.

  • Eligibility criteria for Sound Recording & Television Engineering/ Sound for Electronic and Digital Media- Candidate should have Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Physics as a subject in 10+2.

Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree or their results are awaited, can also apply for JET 2018. However, these candidates if they qualify the examination and are selected, they will be allowed to join the programme, only if they submit the passing certificate.

 

Note: Apart from meeting the JET 2018 eligibility criteria, candidates also need to meet the eligibility criteria of FTII and SRFTI. 

 

JET Application Form 2018

Candidates who wish to appear for entrance exam of FTII and SRFTI, they need to fill the application form of JET 2018 which is available in online mode only. The last date to fill and submit the JET 2018 application form is January 25 till 5:00 pm. To register for JET 2018, candidates need to pay the registration fees at the time of filling the application form. 

 

Documents to keep ready before filling the JET 2018 Application form

 

Candidates, before proceeding towards filling the JET application form 2018 need to make sure that they keep ready the details/documents that are mentioned below. 

  • Valid e-mail ID

  • Personal and Educational qualification details

  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)

The entrance exam will be conducted at 26 test centres across India. Candidates need to fill the JET 2018 test centres at the time of filling the application form. JET Admit Card 2018

Candidates can download the admit card of JET 2018 from February 8, 2018, 2:00 pm onwards. The exam conducting body will not send the JET admit card 2018 by post to any eligible aspirant. Candidates are suggested to regularly track the JET 2018 important dates for updates.

 

JET Exam Pattern 2018

JET 2018 will be held on February 18 in the offline mode. JET 2018 exam pattern is prescribed by FTII. Candidates who are preparing for the entrance exam must know about the exam pattern of JET 2018. Mentioned below are some essential points related to JET exam pattern 2018.

  • JET 2018 will be of 3 hours duration.

  • Exam of all film wing courses (Paper No 1 to 9) will be conducted in the morning session, whereas for all the TV wing courses (Paper No 10 to 15) will be conducted in the afternoon session.

  • Each question paper will carry maximum of 100 marks, which will be further sub-divided into 50 marks for MCQs and 50 for descriptive answers.

  • Candidates need to mark the answers for Multiple Choice Questions on OMR sheets.

JET Cutoff 2018

 

The cutoff of JET 2018 is the minimum marks required by candidates to get admission into postgraduate media programmes offered by FTII and SRFTI. JET 2018 cutoff will be determined by the institute to select the candidates. Till last year FTII had released its cutoff. However, as there is a single entrance exam for both the institute, it is not clear whether there will be a separate JET 2018 cutoff or different. While SRFTI does not officially release its cutoff, it publishes the list of shortlisted candidates directly. JET Result 2018

The result of JET 2018 will be announced tentatively in the last week of March in online mode. Candidates can check their scores and download JET result 2018 by logging in their account. Along with the JET 2018 result, list of shortlisted candidates for the selection process will be made available by the respective institutes. Shortlisted candidates will receive interview letters through email from the institutes directly. What candidates need to keep in mind is that criteria for shortlisting may vary for different courses.

Note: Score of JET 2018 will be valid and accessible till December 31, 2018. No queries (online/offline) related to the issuance of JET 2018 scorecards will be entertained after the given deadline.

 

Selection/Admission Process

After the declaration of JET 2018 results, candidates will be called for the selection process based on their score. The selection process includes steps like orientation, auditions (for acting candidates) and interview. Both the institutes, FTII and SRFTI will select the candidates depending on their admission policies along with the other factors like performance in the entrance exam and orientation, interview, rank obtained etc. To get admission in FTII and SRFTI, it is a must for a candidate to clear the JET 2018.

Note: Candidates must note that the processes, academic cutoffs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary for both institutes.

 

Medical Test:

Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo the medical test as per the selection criteria of both institutes. The medical test will be conducted by the Medical Officer(s) appointed by the respective institutes. Based on the result of the medical test, candidature of a shortlisted candidate can be cancelled. The decision of respective institutes in this regard will be considered final.

 

Document Verification

During the selection process, it is a must for the candidates to produce all the original marksheets and submit attested copies to prove their eligibility.  Not only this, if a candidate gets shortlisted for a programme, he/she needs to produce original degree certificate and mark sheets of all semesters/years along with their attested copies must be submitted for verification.
