MICAT Result 2023 – Calculation of Normalization of Scores
Using statistical methods, the candidates' scores in a subsection of MICAT-I/MICAT-II will be normalized.
A normalized score will be calculated for each subsection.
In order to determine the normalized score, the institute will consider the scores of all qualified candidates up to the stage at which the candidate is eligible.
Each of the four subsections will use normalized or scaled scores to calculate the total MICAT-I/MICAT-II score
The formula for calculating the normalized score is given below -
Normalized score – Verbal Ability (VA) of a candidate 'X' in MICAT-I/MICAT-II 2023 = (Score - VA of the candidate 'X'/Maximum obtained by any candidate from those who appeared in MICAT-I/MICAT-II in VA) multiplied by Maximum Possible Score in VA in MICAT-I/MICAT-II.
