MICAT 2024 - MICA, Ahmedabad has started the MICAT 2024 application form on September 14, 2023. Candidates can fill and submit the MICAT application form 2024 till November 20, 2023. Candidates can submit the application form of MICAT by logging in using the login credentials on the official website. The MICAT exam 2024 will be held on December 2, 2023. Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria of MICAT before starting the application form. The admit card for MICAT 2024 admission test will be released on the official website of the institute on November 29, 2023. MICAT 2024 is a national level entrance exam which is conducted by the MICA, Ahmedabad twice in a year for admission to its flagship two-year programmes-

• Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Communications (PGDM-C)

What is MICAT?

MICA Ahmadabad conducts MICAT entrance exam in computer based mode in December and February. Candidates may write both MICAT I and II or only MICAT-I or MICAT-II. In case candidates take both MICAT-I and MICAT-II, then section A, B, and C may not appear in the same order. MICA admission test is held for admission to 36 PGDM and 180 PGDM-C seats at MICA, Ahmedabad. Every year around 4000-4700 candidates apply for appearing in each of the sessions of MICAT, whereas 700-800 candidates are finally able to crack the examination, securing the MICAT cut off marks. In other words, over 17-18% candidates are able to finally make it to the next round of MICAT selection process. The eligibility criteria of MICAT 2024 entrance exam is set by MICA, the conducting body of MICAT. Thus, candidates are advised to check the MICAT eligibility criteria 2024 before they sit down to fill the application form. MICAT Eligibility Criteria 2024: Qualifying Score

• Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• He or she must have completed a minimum of 15 years of education in the format of 10+2+3.
• The graduation degree in any stream will be considered valid
• Candidates who are in the final year of their graduation can still apply for MICAT 2024

MICAT Eligibility Criteria 2024: Qualifying Entrance Exam

According to the MICAT 2024 eligibility criteria, candidate must have secured a valid score in any one of the following entrance exam given below

• CAT 2022
• XAT 2023
• GMAT 2021 (onwards)

MICA Ahmedabad has started MICAT 2024 application process for phase 1 on September 14. Candidates are required to fill and submit the MICAT 2024 application process for phase 1 before November 20, 2023. After filling the MICAT 2024 application form, candidates of all the categories have to pay a fee Rs. 1985. The MICAT application fee can be paid via debit card, credit card or demand draft.

How to Fill MICAT Application Form 2024

Steps given below to fill the MICAT 2024 application form:

Step 1- Registration for MICAT: Firstly, Candidates have to register by using their valid email address and password.

Step 2- Fill an application form of MICAT 2024: After registration, candidates have to fill all the information such as personal details, academic details, work experience (if any) and select at least three preferred exam centres from the list available. Candidates have to select the city where they would like to present for the group exercise and personal interview.

Step 3- Exam selection: Candidates are select the exam in which they would appear - 

(i) CAT 2022

(ii) XAT 2023

(iii) GMAT (2020 onwards)

Step 4- Upload Photo and Signature: Candidates have to upload their scanned photograph and signature with a file size not more than 80 KB and in jpg or jpeg format.

Step 5- Application fee payment: Rs. 1985 has to be paid by an applicant online through the following modes

Step 6- Submission of MICAT application form: Candidates have to click on the submit button, after fee payment.

What to carry along with admit card of MICAT 2024 ?

Candidates will have to carry anyone proofs of the following identity proofs along with MICAT 2024 admit card otherwise their entry will be restricted inside the examination hall:

MICA, Ahmedabad will announce the MICAT phase 1 result on December 21, 2023. The MICAT 2024 result will be declared in the form of a scorecard. The MICAT result 2024 mentions the qualifying status of the candidate. To check the MICAT 2024 result, candidates have to enter their login credentials in the login window.

How to check MICAT 2024 result? 

• Go to the official website - mica.ac.in.     
• Fill in the MICAT application number and password.
• Press the 'Get Result' tab.
• The result of MICAT 2024 will be displayed on the screen.
• Check the information mentioned over it and download it
• Take a print out and keep it safe for future reference.

The MICAT final result will be computed after the GE and PI rounds are completed. Selection i.e. final MICAT result will be on the basis of the MICAT scores, performance in GE & PI.

The minimum marks that candidates need to be considered eligible for the next round of selection is defined as MICAT cutoff 2024. MICA, Ahmedabad takes the following factors into consideration while preparing the MICAT 2024 cutoff. 

These parameters are:

• Total number of seats available
• Total number of candidates appeared
• Previous years’ MICAT cutoff trends
• Difficulty level of the exam

MICA has not announced any cutoff in terms of relative marks for candidates to gauge. However, past year cutoffs have been used to estimate the expected MICAT cutoff

Candidates who have appeared for the entrance exam may know that MICAT selection process has four steps as explained below:

Step-I: Valid Scores in CAT 2021/ XAT 2022/GMAT (2020 onwards).

All applicants must have a valid score in any one - CAT 2021/ XAT 2022/GMAT (2020 onwards). The scores of these exams will be considered in compilation of the final merit list. The CAT score/ XAT registration or GMAT score as the case may be has to be updated in the online application form of MICAT. In case of XAT, the score is directly collected from XLRI.

Step-II: MICA Admission Test (MICAT 2024).

MICAT is the computer based test held in exam centres  across 48 cities in the country. The test has three sections as mentioned below

• Section A: Psychometric Test

• Section B: (has 4 sub-sections) - Verbal ability, Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation, General awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking

• Section C: Descriptive Test.

Step-III: Group Exercise & Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will appear for both Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI) on the basis of their performance in CAT/ XAT/GMAT and MICAT in the ratio of 50:50.

Step-IV: Candidates will be offered admission on the basis of the final composite score compiled as follows

• CAT/XAT/GMAT: 20%

• MICAT: 30%

• GE: 20%

• PI: 30%

How will candidates be shortlisted for GE & PI rounds?

1. For GE & PI, the Psychometric test will be the first step to qualify.

2. Those who will qualify in the Psychometric test, their CAT/XAT/GMAT performance will be taken into consideration 

3. Those who will qualify based on the CAT/XAT cutoff or GMAT score will further be assessed on the following MICAT sections: Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), General Awareness (GA), and Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT).

4. Those candidates who will qualify on the basis of performance subject to a minimum cutoff in a scaled score for each of these sections (namely: VA, QADI, GA and DCT) and CAT/XAT cut-off or GMAT scores will have their Descriptive Tests analysed for selection.

Note: The list of qualified candidates will be prepared on the basis of scores of both phases of MICAT 2023 entrance exam if a candidate has taken both MICAT-I and MICAT-II.

MICAT Fee Structure (official)

Candidates who are selected may need to know the MICAT 2024 fee structure which has to be announced by the authorities. However, the fee structure of MICAT 2024 can be used to get an estimate of the amount required to study the course. An amount of 20,00,000 approx will have to be paid by students. This is inclusive of tuition fees, residential charges, infrastructure facility charges etc.

Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in  CAT/XAT/GMAT & MICAT appear in both Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI).

MICAT Shortlisting Criteria for GE & PI

1. Section A of MICAT which is the Psychometric test is a qualifier.

2. The relative performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT will be considered for candidates who have qualified in the Psychometric section. 

3. Candidates whose CAT score /XAT total percentile/GMAT score match the specified minimum cutoff will be shortlisted

4. Next performance in MICAT 2024 Section B will be assessed.

5. Candidates who score marks equal or above a minimum cut-off for Section B of MICAT will be subject to assessment of their performance in MICAT Section C. 

6. It is to be noted that each section will have its own cut-off and candidates who meet this will be eligible for the next round of selection.

7. Those who qualify on the basis of a, b, c and d shall be short listed for GE and PI. Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai are the places where the GE and PI will be conducted.

8. Shortlisting for GE & PI candidate list is prepared on the Composite Score formula of 50% CAT/XAT/GMAT and 50% MICAT scores

The names of candidates will be given in the merit list, their final composite score will be created prepared on the following weightage:

• CAT/XAT/GMAT: 20%

• MICAT: 30%

• GE: 20%

• PI: 30%
