MICA Ahmedabad has announced MICAT 2018, the entrance exam for its flagship programme Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Communication (PGDM-C) on September 15, 2017. Like the last two years, MICAT will be conducted twice. While MICAT – I is scheduled on December 17, 2017, MICAT – II will be held on February 17, 2018. Incidentally, MICAT – I date is coinciding with SNAP 2017, which is also scheduled on December 17, 2017.
However, since SNAP 2017 was announced on August 10, it is expected that MICA may change MICAT – I exam date. The application process of MICAT – I will commence from September 26, 2017, and continue till November 30, 2017. Let us take a detailed look at the MICAT 2018 exam notification.

MICAT Eligibility Criteria
According to the MICAT 2018 eligibility criteria, candidates should be graduates in any discipline from a recognised institute or university. The total duration of education should comply with the 10+2+3 years scheme. Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply. According to MICA Ahmedabad, candidates who demonstrate an aptitude for expressing, assessing, and /or conceiving ideas that move people to action and achieve business results tend to stand a better chance of being shortlisted.
MICAT 2018 Application Process
The MICAT application form will be available from September 26, 2017 in online mode. Candidates have to register at the official MICA website to generate login credentials. The application fee is Rs. 1965 which can be paid through Credit/Debit Card and Netbanking.
MICAT is a computer-based test of approx 165 minutes duration. It is a combination of objective and subjective questions. The total number of questions is 140 which will come from six sections, namely, Psychometric (P), Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative Ability (QA), General awareness (GA), Divergent-Convergent Reasoning (DCR) and Descriptive Test (DT).
MICAT 2018 will be conducted in 27 cities across India.
MICAT Shortlist and Selection Criteria
MICA will declare the shortlist for Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) on March 1, 2018. The shortlisting process will include scores of CAT 2017 or XAT 2018 or GMAT (2016 onwards), performance in MICAT and the better of the scores of MICAT – I and MICAT – II would be considered for those who take both MICATs. The final selection procedure of MICAT is as below.

The GE & PI rounds will be conducted in three phases. The first phase will be held in Delhi and Kolkata, the second phase in MICA, Ahmedabad campus and the third phase in Bangalore and Mumbai. The final result of MICAT 2018 will be declared on March 31, 2018.
Last year, as many as 3908 candidates took the MICAT 2017 exam out of 4453 registered candidates. There are 180 seats in PGDM-C programme at MICA.
