Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC) has started the application process for its SIMC MA (MC) 2018 entrance exam from September 21. The details of the test for the MA in Mass Communication programme have also been released. The entrance test of the will be held on January 21, 2018 which assess the capability of the candidate to join the programme. The application fee has been reduced and can be paid online or through a DD. There are no changes in the exam pattern of the entrance test for SIMC MA (MC) 2018. The institute offers specialisation in Journalism and Audio Visual. Candidates are required to choose one of them while filling the application form. The last date to fill the online application form of SIMC MA (MC) 2018 is January 3.

What’s New in SIMC MA(MC)?
Compatred to the last year’s application fee of Rs 2000, this year it has been redued to Rs.1475. This includes Rs.1250 as SIMC MA (MC) Entrance Test fee and Rs. 225 as taxes. Although the fee has been changed, the fee payment process remains same.
The SIMC MA(MC) 2018 application process, which is completely online, has been divided into three steps namely,
1. Register: Fill the online registration form
2. Make Payment: Pay through 2 different payment option
3. Preview: Preview your registration and payment details
SIMC MA (MC) 2018 application fee to be paid is Rs 1475 for all category students. To pay the fee, candidates can select either one of the below given payment modes.

Demand Draft (DD)
Get a Demand Draft (DD) made from a national bank. Fill in the details of the DD in the application form. Take print of the payment advice receipt. Send the receipt and DD to the SIMC Pune address.
Candidates must check the eligibility criteria specified for the SIMC MA (MC) 2018. The institute mentions that candidates with a graduation degree from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks are eligible to apply.
SIMC MA (MC) Exam Pattern 2018
Candidates can check the SIMC MA (MC) 2018 exam pattern below to get an idea of the type of question paper to expect. The SIMC MA (MC) exam 2018 will be offline. Total questions asked are 150 and all questions will be multiple choice questions. The total marks awarded are 150. There is no negative marking.
Candidates who have qualified in the SIMC MA (MC) entrance exam 2018 will be called to participate in the second phase which is the selection phase. Candidates will be shortlisted first on the basis of the SIMC cutoff and called for the Written Ability Test (WAT) followed by the Personal Interview (PI) rounds.
After appearing in the selection rounds, candidates will be assessed as per their performance in the PI-WAT rounds. Final selection will be basis a cumulative score of all the rounds. Once the selection process is over, the officials will release the final merit list of the candidates who are selected for the admissions. However, candidates admission will be provisional and subject to their proof of graduation with 50% by the beginning of the second semester.
