: Amrita School of Communication (ASCOM) conducts the ASCOM 2018 admissions for its BA and MA programmes in Communications as well as the PG Diploma in Journalism. ASCOM Admission is through the CAPTEST, which is conducted offline tentatively in May. Application form of ASCOM Admission 2018 has started from December 26, and the last date to apply will be tentatively the last week of March. Candidates have to download the form, fill the details and then submit the filled in form along with the DD towards the application fee. Exemption from appearing in CAPTEST for ASCOM admission will be offered to students who have more than 70% in the first two years of their graduation. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview if they qualify in CAPTEST. Such candidates who clear the interview will be selected for ASCOM 2018 admissions. B. A. Mass Communication

  • Candidates must have passed their 10+2 examination or an equivalent exam with an aggregate minimum of 50% marks.

  • Candidate from the foreign universities should obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi

M. A. in Communication

  • Candidates must have passed a bachelor's degree (10+2+3 system) in any discipline from a recognized institute or university with an aggregate 50% marks.

  • Candidate from the foreign universities should obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

  • Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference

ASCOM Application Form 2018

Step 1 – Download the application form of ASCOM admission 2018

Step 2 - Fill the ASCOM Admission form

Candidates have to enter details like,

  • Personal details
  • Mailing details
  • Academic Background
  • Professional Qualification if applicable
  • Software skills if any
  • Declaration
  • Signature of applicant

Candidates must also affix a passport size photograph in the given space. They must also send an additional passport size photograph along with the filled in application form for the admit card.

 

Step 3 - Payment of the Application Fee

Candidates must pay a fee of Rs 500 via a Demand Draft in favour of “Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham” payable at ‘Coimbatore

 

Step 4 – Submission of the application form of ASCOM 2018 admission

Candidates must send self-attested copies of the following documents

  • 2 passport size Photographs

  • Class 10th Marks Sheet

  • Class 12th Marks Sheet

  • Mark Sheets for all semesters of the Bachelor’s programme in case of M.A applicants

  • Candidates who are appearing for their final exam (class 12th) and are awaiting their result should produce the attested copies of Class 1th when they appear for the CAPTEST.

  • MA applicants need to submit a copy of their or the provisional degree certificate/ degree certificate

  • DD for the payment of application fees

  • Class 10 – TC if applicable

  • Community Certificate if applicable

ASCOM Exam Pattern 2018

 

The exam pattern of CAPTEST (Communication Aptitude Test) for the ASCOM admission 2018 gives details of the mode of exam, type of questions asked, marks awarded and such. It may be noted that candidates applying for the MA programmes will be exempted from the CAPTEST is they have obtained more than 70% aggregate marks during the first two years of their degree. However, they will have a chance to directly get to the interview stage. The exam pattern for ASCOM Admission is given separately below for the BA and the MA as well as the PG Diploma programmes.

 

ASCOM CAPTEST is designed to evaluate students on their interests, aptitude and potential for adapting to the programmes offered. The sections in each year’s question paper will differ however the topics covered always include Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning and English Grammar.

Candidates have to submit attested photocopies of the following documents during the time of selection process to avail final admissions.

 

1.Duly filled application form

3.Class 10th and 12th Mark Sheets (for B.A applications)

4.Class 10th and 12th Mark Sheet, and all semester marksheet of Bachelor’s (for M.A applications)
