Pune University Mass Comm Admission 2018 - The Savitribai Phule Pune University announced the result for the different courses which fall under the department of media and communication studies on July 11. The result for M.Sc in media and communication studies was announced on June 29. All the candidates who have been offered admission, they could collect their admission letters from the office from June 29 (after 4:00 p.m).Candidates who have qualified in the entrance test for admission to the Pune University Mass Communication 2018, their documents will be verified from July 2 onwards. Meanwhile, the authorities will announce the Post Graduate Certificate Course in Photo Journalism result on July 2. An entrance test for M.Sc Media and Communication studies and for Post Graduate Diploma in Indian Film Studies was conducted on June 23 and for other programmes, the entrance exam was held on June 22. The department of media and communication studies issued the application form in online mode on May 14 and the last date for filling it was June 18th for M.Sc in media and communication studies and for Post graduate diploma in film studies, the end date for filling it is July 4, 2018. The department of communication and journalism have also issued the application form for the different courses that are offered from May 22 to June 12th. The university offers 60 seats to the M.Sc Media & Communication while the seat intake for the Master of Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC) is 36 and 40 seats for the Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Media (PGDMM) programme respectively. Pune University Mass Comm Selection Process 2018

 

For MJMC and PGDMM

Shortlisting criteria for Pune University Mass Comm admission 2018 was done on the following basis:

  • Open or general category candidates must score a minimum of 45% in the entrance test.

  • Candidates belonging to reserved category must score a minimum of 30% in the test to be able to get shortlisted for admissions.

Admission is strictly on merit in the Entrance Test in the respective categories. If a candidate is selected, she/he has to pay the academic fee and submit the required documents. If a candidate fails to do so, the seat will be offered to the candidate who is next in the list.

 

For M.Sc, the University department will inform the selected candidates about their admission status, and the process they have to follow. The selection will be on the basis of the performance in the entrance exam. Candidates have to collect their admission letters from the office. The Department will inform the waitlisted candidates if there is any seat vacant across categories.

 

The verification of documents will be done in July at the Conference hall in the Department of Media & Communication Studies. Candidates must visit the venue for the document verification and payment of the academic fee.

For M.Sc- The eligibility criteria of Pune University Mass Comm admission specifies that all applicants must have earned a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a (Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, Law etc.) from a recognized university to apply for the course. The degree must be from a recognized university.

  • To sign up, candidates must enter their Email ID, mobile No and a password of their choice.

For M.Sc in Mass Communication:

 

The entrance test for the Pune University Mass Comm admission 2018 is offline. The test had two sections, with an overall duration of four hours. Section A was of 50 minutes while Section B was for three hours. Section A was objective and Section B was subjective. There was  a break of 10 minutes in between Section A and Section B. The exam was conducted in English. There was no negative marking.

  • Candidates must first complete Section A to appear for Section B.

  • Candidates are not allowed to bring calculators, digital diaries, watches with calculators, log books and similar material during the test
