Questions related to DU Delhi

Have a question related to DU Delhi ?

The most recommended approach is to directly contact the Delhi University Admissions office and explain your situation.

Explain that your EWS certificate is under process and inquire about the possible alternatives for document submission on the CSAS portal. The admissions office might suggest uploading a copy of the application receipt you received for the EWS certificate, or they might provide an alternative document submission process.

Some institutions might allow uploading a provisional EWS certificate issued by the competent authority while your main certificate is being processed. It is crucial to confirm with the DU admissions office if they accept such provisional documents before uploading one.

If options 1 and 2 are not viable, you can still submit your application on the CSAS portal. In the designated section (if available) or as a separate document, clearly explain that your EWS certificate is under process and provide details like the expected issuance date (if known).

It is generally not possible to directly join another university like Delhi University (DU) and start from the 1st semester after completing one year of a BA program in a different state university.

Universities typically have limited flexibility for credit transfer between institutions. Even within the same university system, transferring a full year's worth of credits might be difficult. Course structures and curriculum might differ between universities. Your completed first year at the state university might not perfectly align with DU's BA program requirements.

If both your state university and DU are affiliated to the same university grant commission (UGC) recognized university system, you might be able to explore an affiliation transfer process. This would allow you to continue your BA program under the new university (DU) but might still involve some credit evaluation and course adjustments.

Some universities allow students to apply for admission to a higher semester (like 2nd or 3rd) based on their previous academic performance and credit evaluation.  Explore DU's admission process to see if they offer such a program transfer option for students coming from other universities.

If the above options aren't feasible, you could consider starting a fresh BA program at DU. This would involve applying for admission again and potentially losing the credits you earned in your first year at the state university.

No, you should not upload your OBC certificate to the DU CSAS form if you belong to the OBC creamy layer.

Delhi University requires candidates claiming reservation benefits under the OBC category to belong to the "Non-Creamy Layer." This means their family income falls below a specific threshold set by the government. OBC creamy layer candidates are not eligible for OBC reservation benefits in educational institutions. Uploading your OBC certificate in this case might lead to complications during verification or disqualify you from claiming OBC reservation.
During the DU CSAS application process, you should select the "General Category" when asked about your caste category.

If you have a valid, recent (issued after March 31st, 2021) OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate, you can consider applying under the OBC category. However, confirm your eligibility based on your family income not exceeding the creamy layer limit set by the government.

Having a different name on your 10th marksheet and Aadhar card might cause some issues during registration on the CSAS portal of Delhi University,

During verification, the mismatch between your names on the application and documents (marksheet and Aadhar card) could lead to delays in processing your registration.

If possible, prioritize getting your name rectified on your 10th mark sheet. This is the ideal solution as it eliminates discrepancies across documents.

Contact your school authorities and inquire about the process for name correction on the marksheet. It might involve submitting an affidavit and relevant documents as proof of the error.

If correcting your marksheet name isn't feasible immediately, proceed with your CSAS portal registration. During the application process, look for a section where you can mention the name discrepancy. Clearly explain the situation and mention that you are in the process of getting your marksheet name rectified.

If the CSAS portal allows uploading documents, consider attaching a signed affidavit on a notary stamp explaining the name mismatch and your efforts to get it corrected.
