XIC OETXIC OET 2018 - The Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) will conduct XIC OET 2018 tentatively in April 2018.  The Xavier Institute of Communications online entrance test is conducted to shortlist candidates for the post-graduate diploma in mass communication and journalism programmes offered by the institute. The XIC OET 2018 application process for the academic session 2018 will start from the month of April. The candidates have to fill the forms online and submit them along the application fee of Rs 3500. This fee is for all category students. Besides the form and fee, while registering for the test candidates have to submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) and a Portfolio. Although the portfolio is optional, the SOP is a must document for the students to share, which will be discussed during the personal interview rounds. Candidates with a graduation degree from a recognised university are eligible to apply. After the registration, the XIC OET admit card 2018 will be shared on the candidates registered e-mail id. According to the exam pattern of XIC OET 2018 the test will be conducted in an online mode across different test centres on different dates starting from April and continuing till May 2018. The selection process for the XIC Online Entrance Test 2018 will start soon after the test is conducted at the same test centres. XIC OET Eligiblity Criteria 2018

 

According to the eligibility criteria of XIC OET 2018, candidates must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised University. The officials, Xavier's Institute of Communication, also states that the applicants must be below 35 years of age. Final year graduates are also eligible to apply, but must have to submit the requisite documents at the time of final admissions.

1. Candidates must have studied a regular 3 years graduation course be from any of the discipline or stream of studies like Arts, Commerce, Science, Computers, BMM, BMS, BE, Catering, etc.

2. Age limit for XIC OET 2018 is 35 years.

3. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply for admissions.

4. Students in their final year and awaiting their graduation results should submit attested photocopy of their mark sheet by second semester to the Administration Office.

 

XIC OET Application Form 2018

 

The application process of XIC OET 2018 is completely online for the eligible candidates to fill and register for the test. The XIC OET application forms must be filled and submitted online only. The application form filling process is,

  • Applicants have to visit the application link, under the heading of Admission and click Register.

  • Candidates have to log-in through valid email-id.

  • Start filling the details as required in the XIC OET 2018 application form.

  • Once personal and education details are filled, candidates must select their preferred test centre and date for the test.

  • Then they must upload a scanned copy of their recent passport size photograph.

  • The last step before submitting the application form is to submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) and portfolio (optional) as mentioned below

  • Next step is to pay the XIC OET 2018 application fees of Rs 3500 through DEBIT or CREDIT Cards only.

  • After payment, candidates are advised to note the application number for their reference.

Statement of Purpose (SOP): The Statement of Purpose is a document that elaborates on the purpose of the student in pursuing the said course. Although this document will be required at the time of Interview, it has to be uploaded during registration for the institute to peruse.

 

Portfolio (Optional): It is optional for the candidates to share their Portfolio with the officials. Portfolios include work/projects undertaken by the candidates during the course of their study over the years. A candidate is allowed to send only two of his/her best works via email in a file of size not more than 10 MB. Candidates have to send this within two days from the date of registration. Portfolio can be an essay, write-up, video/documentary or photographs depicting the work done by the candidates in the respective areas.

Steps to follow while sending the Portfolio

  • Mention the “Registration number” as Subject in the email

  • The first line of the mail must mention the candidate’s name in bold, registration number, XIC OET 2018 test centre and date

XIC OET Admit Card 2018

 

The admit card of XIC OET will be sent to the registered email ID of the candidates who have successfully registered for the XIC OET 2018. Candidates have to download and take a print out of the admit card. This document has to be carried at the time of XIC OET 2018 entrance test. The OET admit card may also be required at the time of selection process, and must be preserved till the admission process is complete.

 

XIC OET Exam Pattern 2018

 

As per the exam pattern of XIC OET 2018, the test will be conducted in an online made, simply in computer based mode. The test will be of 90 minutes of duration. The total marks of the test will be 150 and the paper will have both objective and subjective type questions.

XIC OET exam pattern- Details:

1. The Objective section will carry 100 marks and has to be completed within the duration of 60 minutes.The questions in this section will be from Language Skills, General Knowledge and Knowledge of Media, Logical and Analytical skills.

2. Subjective section of the test will be of 50 marks with duration of 30 minutes.  This section will consist of three questions which could be media related in order to assess creativity, social values, writing skills, etc.

 

XIC OET Result 2018

 

The officials will release a final result of XIC OET 2018 in the last week of May. The result will have a list of candidates who are selected for admissions. This XIC OET result 2018 is a cumulative score of the test, interview rounds. Such candidates have to wait for the official communication and the selection process to start.

 

Candidates first will be shortlisted as per the minimum qualifying marks in the test. Their scores in the interview rounds will be added and then the final list will be declared.

 

XIC OET Selection Procedure 2018

 

The selection process for XIC OET 2018 will start soon after the test has been conducted. Once the test is conducted, candidates who secured minimum qualifying marks, will be asked to wait and appear in the personal interview rounds which will happen via Skype video.

 

XIC OET 2018 Selection Process- Details

  • The Skype video interview will be conducted for candidates who have applied and appeared for the Journalism, Advertising, Film & TV, and Communication for Development course.

  • The test takers at the Mumbai centre will have to undergo face to face personal interviews, across the programmes

  • Test takers for other courses, PR and Corp Comm at Mumbai and Delhi centre first have to appear for group discussions rounds, and if shortlisted must appear for a personal interview. Candidates from the Pune, Bengaluru and Kolkatta centres will be invited to XIC, Mumbai Centre for the selection process. The schedule for the same will be given to the shortlisted candidates at the centre itself.

  • Candidates for Advt. & Mktg. Comm. And Film, Television Course at Delhi centre will have to appear for live personal interview rounds.

  • Students at Delhi Centre will have their GD/PI at Delhi centre itself.
