Shatabdi Singh 2nd Jul, 2019

Hello ,

As your query is that you wanted to apply for IIMC entrance exam but somehow you didn't appeared for the exam and you are confused with what next. I would like to tell you that that there is no other possible way or any other alternative. If you want to pursue your Mass and Communication studies at an higher level you have to appear for the exam. So in my opinion it will be better to prepare for this one whole year and apply next year for the same.

Further, if any detail that you need or think we can help you with that you can let me know in the comment section below.

I hope your query is solved.

Thank you.

Please somebody give me the previous year entrance questions paper of iimc...

Jesin J 31st May, 2019
Hello. For IIM Calcutta, in order to secure a seat for pgp program/mba, you should clear cat examination. The cat is an online test in which the level of difficulty varies every year. None of questions or question patterns are repeated.

I would suggest you to go through the basics and join a test series for preparation.

Hope this helps

All the best.

How to pass IIMC entrance exam

Aman Yadav 9th Apr, 2019

Greetings Medhamahima!

Hope you're doing great.

Since I've cracked the IIMC admission paper for Journalism course I'll try to give my insight into the examination. First thing first, if you've completed your graduation in Journalism then I see no point of appearing for this exams. You will only be taught things which you might have already read during your undergraduate level. Technically, IIMC is for those who are from the different stream and want to start their career in either Radio Productions, Advertising and Public relations, or Journalism.

Now, coming back to the question of how to pass the IIMC entrance examination? I'll sum up the tricks whole in three points: Be an active news reader(follow any newspaper), practice creative writing(abundant online course are available), Don't forget to put on your views at the time of answering the questions. If you follow these three steps I'm pretty sure you'll pass through the written exam with flying colours.

After the declaration of the written test, you'll be called for the Personal Interview round. The interview panel will be mostly Insitute teachers and professors and sometimes they call eminent media personality but that's rare. During my interview, the interviewers asked very general questions. As my dad was serving in IAF at that time so, they asked me about AFSPA, how it's affecting northeastern states. I'll recommend please go through introspection and learn about yourself. Most of the questions will be directly or indirectly based on your life experience. They want to know your personality and hence the whole PI round is all about.

I don't recommend any book for IIMC examination. However, if you want you can go through the Journalism competitive examination book by Arihant Publication. You will become aware of most of the kinds of stuff asked during the exam.

P.S: Don't forget to take a pencil to the examination hall.

Hope, this will help. DO reach out in the comment section in case of any query.

All the best! :)

Cheers!

I achieved a 92% in 10th, 79% in 12th, and 82% in graduation. How much do I need to score in CAT to get into the top MBA colleges?

Jesin J 7th May, 2019
Hello Karam. Congratulations on decent academic scores. Now, the admission in IIMs and other top b-schools accounts to different factors. These factors include, class 10 marks,  class 12 marks, graduation marks, gender diversity, academic diversity, work experience and cat score.
So if you are a fresher and belong to general category, then you should try and get 99+ percentile in CAT. The reason being, a lot of candidates have very high academic scores, and other factors also play a spoil sport.

So,  work hard and ace the Cat.

All the best.
