MICAT Exam Pattern 2020 - Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) will release MICAT 2020 exam pattern in September 2019. The exam pattern of MICAT will provide comprehensive information to students about the number of questions likely to be asked, exam duration, marking scheme, the structure and mode of the exam. Those who are new to MICAT, the entrance exam is conducted twice in a year- MICAT I and II. MICAT I 2020 will be conducted in first week of December 2019 while MICAT II will be conducted in second week of February 2020. Candidates, therefore, must prepare well for the exam before the deadline. Knowing the exam pattern of MICAT in advance will add to candidates’ preparation as they will know the topics to be expected in MICAT 2020 exam and if there is any negative marking for incorrect response. The exam pattern of MICAT 2020 is given below in the table, candidates can go through it to know the details. In MICAT 2020, candidates cannot navigate to any other section of the test during answering descriptive and psychometric parts. Also, candidates cannot navigate to descriptive and psychometric parts while attempting questions from Part II. Test- takers, however, can navigate between sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of part II.

MICAT entrance exam is divided in to three sections. The table consists of number of questions asked, and time duration allotted for each section as per MICAT exam Pattern.

This section includes 25 questions, which tests candidates’ comprehension, grammatical skills, and vocabulary. Candidates must note that 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
This section consists of 25 questions in total. Candidates are tested based on their knowledge of current affairs. It attracts a negative marking of 0.25 marks for any incorrect response.
This section comprises four questions in total, which scrutinizes candidates’ writing abilities. Descriptive test does not have any negative marking.
This section consists of a total of 25 questions which tests candidates’ mathematical skills. Quantitative ability attracts a negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers.
This section consists of 36 questions in total and attempting all of them is important for candidates. This psychometric test examines candidates’ personality and behavioural traits. There is no negative marking for this section.
Candidates have to answer 30 questions in this section, which judges candidates’ reasoning and analytical skills. 0.25 marks will be deducted for any incorrect answer.
As per the exam pattern of MICAT 2020, there is no negative marking for the Descriptive section and Psychometric section.
The following sections have a negative marking - Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, and Divergent and Convergent Thinking. 0.25 percent is deducted for every wrong answer.
Candidates must note that there is no fixed number of questions that are asked in MICAT. Every year, the total number of questions asked in each section in the entrance exam varies. In 2018 MICAT - I, there were approximately 105 questions asked in the exam. MICAT exam pattern, therefore, keeps on changing every year.
Candidates who are aiming to crack MICAT 2020, they should keep the syllabus at their fingertips. The syllabus will help them know the exact topics and subjects from which questions will be asked in the exam.
Psychometric test- It is mandatory for candidates to qualify this section of MICAT. The other sections from which questions asked are:

The fee for MICAT 2020 application form is Rs. 1985 for all the categories.
