JMI Mass Communication Selection Process 2017: According to the selection process of JMI Mass Communication 2017, candidates first will be shortlisted on the basis of entrance test results. Such shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. Also as a part of the JMI Mass Communication 2017 selection process candidates have to submit their Portfolio during the interview rounds. Each round of the JMI selection process carries different weight-ages to be able to calculate final scores. Only on the basis of candidates’ performance at the JMI Mass Communication selection rounds, final admission will be offered. The JMI selection process starts from June 1 and ends on June 7. The officials have also announced the shortlist result on May 25.
JMI Mass Communication Selection Procedure 2017- Details
After the JMI Mass Communication entrance exam has been conducted, the officials will announce the JMI Mass Communication results in the form of merit list. The list will contain names of the shortlisted candidates who have to follow the JMI Mass Communication selection rounds 2017. The JMI Mass Communication selection rounds are,
Selection Process Rounds
The details of each of the JMI selection process 2017, to be attended by shortlisted candidates are given below.
1. Group Discussion - Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a GD. A moderator will share topic and the candidates have to present their views either in the favour of the topic or against it.
2. Interview - The duration of the interview with the panel will be 10-20 minutes or more according to the situation. Each candidate will be evaluated, broadly, on the following parameters,
Knowledge of the contemporary political, social, cultural and economic issues
Knowledge of contemporary media
Knowledge of film - fiction and non-fiction
General knowledge and the subjects studied at the graduation level
Visualization skills and creative aptitude
Overall Performance (articulation, reasoning, confidence etc)
3. Portfolio - Candidates shortlisted for the interview have to carry a portfolio that provides documentary proof/evidence of the media related work and extra-curricular activities by the candidate.
The portfolio is evaluated on the following parameters broadly:
Proof of online work
Published work (Articles and stories etc. published in reputed journals and magazines)
Proof of production work (audio/visual media based)
Proof of internship/work experience with a media house of some repute
Proof of participation in social activities( involvement with NGOs or social organisations)
Proof of participation in extra-curricular activities (debating, painting, music, theatre etc.
After each of the rounds, officials will declare final JMI results, which will have names of the candidates who are selected for final admissions. The result will be calculated as per the scheme provided in the table below,

Documents required for JMI Mass Communication Selection Process 2017
Candidates who have been selected for the final admissions are required to bring their JMI Admit Card issued for the JMI Mass communication test 2017, along with self-attested copies of the documents listed below.
Proof of passing the qualifying examination together with the marks sheet.
Proof of age based on the certificate of High School/Secondary School or an equivalent examination.
Proof of reserved category issued by the competent authority.
Character Certificate and migration certificate.
Proof of permanent address as stated in the Application Form with the name of the nearest Police Station and the District.
JMI Mass Communication Selection Process 2017- Instructions
1.The original certificates will be returned after verification. However, JMI might retain the original transcripts of the qualifying exams for about two months.
2. Candidates who are selected for admissions will have to fill “Student Registration Form”. This form can be obtained from the department Dean’s Office.
3. Original Transfer Certificate/Migration Certificate has to be submitted within 60 days from the date of admission. If a candidate fails to submit the said document the admission might be cancelled.
4. Admission process for all the programmes will close on September 30, 2017.
6. Admission Fees will be accepted through cash, online or Demand Draft.
