Selected students have to enroll themselves in the department within 3 days from the date of declaration of the names of the selected applicants.
Applicants must inform the officials within 3 days if they do not wish to avail themselves for final admissions.
Candidates who wish to accept final admissions must submit the academic fee either via cash or by Demand Draft.
Candidates from Mumbai will have to collect a challan copy from the department. Whereas, out station candidates can courier their DD along with other documents to the following Department address.

The exam pattern of Mumbai University Mass Communication 2018 has been prescribed by the Department of Communication and Journalism which conducts the test. Candidates had to appear for a written test. The test paper was of 100 marks with a question on creative writing, and four questions/statements to debate and discuss on local, national, international issues. Candidates who qualify in the test will have to further undergo a group discussion and face a person interview as part of the selection process.
Stage 2- Group Discussion (GD): Candidates who clear the written test, they were called for the Group Discussion round which was of a total of 100 marks. The schedule for the same will be on the website and the University notice board.
During the group discussion, candidates were given a subject to discuss and debate. All students were assessed for language, presentation, articulation and content. Each of the assessing factors carried a weight of 25 marks. Students again will be shortlisted as per their performance or merit for the next round.
Stage 3- Personal Interview: Here, each student was given total three minutes. This time must be utilized by students to talk about themselves, their purpose for seeking admissions to the course and their suitability for the programme. This presentation was completely oral and was made in English, Hindi or Marathi. Candidates will be assessed on factors like language, presentation, clarity of purpose and overall impression. Each factor will carry an weightage of 25 marks out of a total of 100 marks.

The minimum marks considered for admissions to the Mumbai University Mass Communication 2018 programmes is the cutoff. Candidates must submit all the documents attested with seal and stamped. All the documents must be submitted at the time of submitting the admission form and not later.
Details of SOP and LOR:
1. Statement of Purpose (SOP)- Candidates have to write an essay of not less than 500 words and maximum 800 words. This document has to be typed in a single sheet and signed by the candidate. The essay or the SOP must be in the form of an argument which justifies candidates purpose of taking the course. This essay may be written in English, Hindi or Marathi. The language of the testimonials can be English, Hindi or Marathi.This essay has to be submitted along with the application form.
2. Letter of Recommendation (LOR) or Testimonials- The students have to submit testimonials or letter of recommendations from at least two teachers who have personally taught the student in school or in college. The document must state the reasons why teachers feel that the particular student should do the course, and how the course will benefit the student. This document has to be of maximum 150 words each. The document must also state the period that the teacher has been associated with the student in the said institution. The language of the testimonials can be English, Hindi or Marathi.
Mumbai University Mass Communication 2018 Application Process- Instructions
Candidates must submit complete application forms to the University venue before the deadline. Officials will not accept any application submitted after the deadline.
Graduates of Universities other than the University of Mumbai have to submit their attested mark sheets for all the three graduation years. These have to be verified by an authorized person in the Department of Communication and Journalism.
Eligible candidates of Universities other than the University of Mumbai have to submit the Migration Certificate within one week of taking admission in this University.
The photocopies of the documents have to be certified by the Principal of the constituent college or the Head of a recognized institution.
